Fast Bank, represented by Vahe Badalyan, has provided support of 50 million AMD to the Matenadaran.

Fast Bank, represented by the Chairman of the Bank’s Board and philanthropist Vahe Badalyan, has provided AMD 50 million in support to the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts – the Matenadaran – for the implementation of a large-scale charitable initiative.

Vahe Badalyan emphasized that the Matenadaran is far more than just a building; it is the temple of national memory.

“Manuscripts are preserved here, but within their pages lies something greater: the destiny of our people, the development of our scientific and literary thought, the light of our faith, and the continuation of our aspirations. The Matenadaran is our genetic code,” he said.

With the support of the Badalyan family, a café area and souvenir shop are being built on the basement floor of the Matenadaran.

This initiative aims to enhance visitor comfort and modernize the museum experience of the Matenadaran. The entrance will undergo a complete renovation while preserving its historical and cultural significance. The new space will include a separate exit, and the gates and entrance doors will be restored.

In addition, a dedicated entrance that meets modern standards will be created for school groups.

Ara Khzmalyan, Director of the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, noted that the Matenadaran itself is a symbol of philanthropy, and its collections are the result of benevolence and generosity from great benefactors.

He highlighted that the collaboration with Mr. Badalyan, the Badalyan family, and Fast Bank establishes a new culture and quality of patronage — one that impacts not only the Matenadaran and the Badalyan family, but also national and public life as a whole.

As a sign of gratitude, an honorary arch has been unveiled at the Matenadaran, with the names of benefactors Vahe and Vigen Badalyan inscribed in gold letters.

This symbolic gesture once again underscores the significant contribution of the Badalyan family to the preservation and advancement of the Matenadaran and Armenian culture.

Fast Bank is a company committed to becoming a fully digital bank, available 24/7, with representation in Yerevan and in all regions of Armenia.
